Rainbow 6 Vegas question.

I've heard people say that the original Vegas is the same thing as the sequel. Is this true? If it is I''l just get the original (for expense reasons). I just wanted to know 'cause I don't want to get ripped off, but I don't want to miss out on a good game either. So are they the same thing? If not, which one is better? They aren't the same thing, the 2nd has much better visuals, more weapons, better maps and extremely fun game modes. The only reason people are saying they are the same is because they are idiots who don't realize a sequel is allowed to be similar to it's original game. The 2nd is worth buying. Either way, the population of the first won't likely be as large as the 2nd. But yeah, the rsv2 is a pretty good game.
I think it's worth the higher price just for the newer content, it has alot of players still and overall I think it's just a much better game overall.
