I have a bad feeling...but it said when i bought the console on ebay that it would not include an HDMI port.. What does that mean? HDMI port is another cable that gives you hi-def picture quality. It is found on 360's made around September-October of 2007 and after. I don't know about buying a used 360, since it is opened already since he said it has an upgraded fan this voids any warranty through Microsoft. I'm confused.[/QUOTE]There is a fan already in the 360, but the word upgrade means to improve so that would mean theres supposed to be a ''better'' fan that the seller or someone else put inside. In order to upgrade a fan the 360 must be opened thus voiding MS's warranty. In order for MS to fix a broken 360 one of the requirements is to not have opened the 360.

Check the back of your console: If the barcode sticker with your 360's serial number has been tampered with (i.e. obviously peeled off and put back, or slit down the middle, then your 360 has been opened and the warranty is void. Otherwise, the seller might simply be trying to tell you that it's a more modern 360 with a better fan (as opposed to the launch-era consoles that have crap fans and sound like a jet aircraft taking off).As for the HDMI, I wouldn't worry about it unless you have a TV over about 42'' that is capable of 1080p. For TVs smaller than that, you won't be able to tell much difference between HDMI and the regular component HD cables.

If they were refurbished by Microsoft, in some cases they will end up being more dependable than a brand new one, since they've already been tested out of the box and any issues it might have had were fixed.Even so, I wouldn't go for one that has a void warranty.

Nyko Intercooler yes or no

So my xbox360 arrives tomorrow after being repaired from Microsoft repair center. So I'm not sure to use the nyko inter-cooler I bought a long time ago. is not the ''EX'' version. is the one with the plastic cover for the electric port. I don't wanna let my xbox360 get the RROD so I don't know if I should use it or not. Some people says it actually burns your xbox360 because instead of cooling it heats up your xbox360 more. some other people say it sucks power from your xbox360 and kill it. So i'm not sure what I should Do. :/I think. First i need to see if they repaired or sent me a new console if they sent me a new console with the newest chip. and some people say that the newest versions of xbox360 aren't unable to attach the inter-cooler.If they repaired my account I got 2 options. Try it with the inter-cooler and take it off if at some moment I start getting the can't read disc errors or freezing and just play it normal regularly up to 4 hours continuously and take a 2 hour break.Hope you guys can Illustrate me with some ideas.Nyko Intercooler yes or no

Make sure you get the new Metal one. If you get the old plastic one, it can melt to your 360 voiding your warranty.
Get the EX, dont screw yourself over, I had it till my system red ringed and had to take it off..suddenly ripped the metal casing off of the EX plug into the system, so I gotta grab a new one.Just a warning, doesn't stop the red ring but definately helps cooling by an AMAZING amount.

Yes they do. I've had the EX since 2006 and I've never had the Red Ring of Death. It doesn't prevent it 100% because overheating isn't the only thing that causes it but it cuts the chance of down a lot. A friend of mine actually talks about it in great detail on his internet radio show, the link is in my sig.

What I meant was that, this far in the game, we shouldn't need third-party peripherals just to keep our gaming machines working. Did you ever buy one of these ''coolers'' for your PS2? Sure, the PS2 doesn't produce nearly as much heat as these consoles, but the idea is the following: Why couldn't Microsoft have seen overheating as a problem? Why couldn't they change the form factor of the 360 to allow better air flow? Ran it on Oblivion and Call of Duty 4, usually for more than 4 hours a day. I never used a cooler. No RRoD. Of course, then I sold it for a PS3. Now I have a new 360.

In all seriousness, the intercoolers/pelican coolers do not let your 360 have enough power to do its own climate control therefore during prolonged play when the 360 is using max power, it can cause shorts in the connectors between the 360 and intercooler or worse, shorts inside the climate control part of the 360 motherboard. this can cause the connectors to heat to well beyond what is allowed thereby causeing the connectors or plastic coverings to cause bonding with the metal or plasic of the 360.I think this part is crap but they say that you should not use a powerstrip with your 360, but those crasy MS people will blame anything but the fact that they had a crappy hardware development team.

The best measure to take is to make sure your 360 is in a place where it gets as much air as possible. Mine is on a large shelf all by itself - with its power unit - which I think should also recieve fresh air - and it hasn't given me any problems since launch. *knock on wood*.
You shouldn't need it but you do. I love my 360 but MS did a crappy job with their internal cooler. It just isn't suffecient.

I got the Intercooler EX. It seems to work pretty well for the most part, except the thing is quite nosiy. Is that a desiel truck running in my living room? No, its the intercooler.
Well I was playing On my xbox360 last night for an hour. And after I finished playing It was Mild Hot. So I wanan try out using my xbox360 with The Nyko Intercooler even tho I won't play for that much maximum 4 hours . I just wanna keep it cool till I play for 2 hours what you think? . I have the EX but I only used it for about 2 months. It does a fine job of cooling the console down but I don't like how it steals power from the xbox. Also the connector on it that you plug your power cord into is terrible. Sometimes my xbox would not turn on so I had to jiggle the cord until it did. I am thinking about getting one of the new intercoolers with an external power supply. If I were you I would look into one of those.

I had a EX on my first console and had power issues where the EX was dragging power away from my console causing some issues, it also made lots of noise and I still got an RROD. I got a new console and didn't put the EX on it and so far it has been fine. There is no reason for the fan if you keep your console in a cool, dust free area where it has lots of room to breath.

Yes, you should get Bad Company. Why? Simply download the demo and/or check out some of the gamplay vids.
I enjoy it but there is a demo out on the marketplace that includes online so you can try before you buy :D. Also play a few times online before choosing if to buy it or not, it takes some time to get used to a class and the controls.

Chronologically, yes he could appear in the game.... whether or not he will is tough to guess. However, Im pretty sure there is abattle on Reach after it gets glassed, and if you know the novels, then you know tha tMC was there with a couple of his comrades (Kelly, Nicole etc)...

i wasnt really liking it either through ch 1 -3,but i continued to eventually beat the game and i am currently on ch 7 on a new game+.all the chapters are good except for chapter 3.the problem is in the first 2 your getting used to everything then all of a sudden they throw a really bad chapter at you.i can see how some ppl didnt like it.but my response is you didnt play the rest of the game. oh yeah chapter 1and 2 are better in a new game plus because at this point you already know the controls so you can enjoy those levels fully.

You want one with the newest chipset. Those should be the HDMI equipped ones.

Honestly, I wouldnt buy an game consoles used unless you can buy one from a trusted friend or family member. It's just not worth it at the end of the day when your system is going haywire and you're pulling out books to troubleshoot your misery away. From my personal experience, I have a 60GB PS3, and if it werent for the rarity of this model, and the fact that it's backwards compatible with the Emotion engine, I would have never bought it used. I'm a hassle-free kind of guy and I dont want to be stuck with a piece of junk that's dead weight. Fork over the extra cash to get a new system. If you dont have enough money yet, be patient. Trust me, it will pay off big time when you're not pulling out your hair trying to figure out what's wrong with your game console. I hope this helps. Good luck.

But without color. It's in black and white only.I tried on my other TV, and it plays it just fine. Has all the colors and everything.Neither of these TVs are in HD. The only thing I can think of at this point is that your TV is really old and it has finally given up OR the TV isnt recieving the cables correctly. OR.. you can try and mess with your settings of the TV menu.
I never heard of this problem... type it in on google and see if anyone else has the same issue.
Are you in a PAL country? Perhaps the 60hz/50hz is going down well with your tv.
Make sure your SDTV switch on your AV cable is set correctly and try the PAL-50/PAL-60 settings in the dashboard. PAL-60 is an NTSC signal so if your TV doesn't support it, it'll be b%26w.

I think you should just rent Alone in the Dark. I personally think the fire mechanics will be boring or irritating for long run, unless you like those game that fills with darkness.

[/QUOTE]Agreed Lost odyssey is my favorite game this year. Mulitiplayer games might ''last longer'' if you don't feel the urge to replay them but to me a great rpg has lasting appeal. The stories are better and will most likely touch you as most multiplayer ones aren't really good enough to remember.I'd choose BF:BC because it interests me more than Alone in the dark. I'd just wait for reviews on both though Alone in the dark is sketchy to me at least.

Just as good quality, but alot longer campaign. Forge, theatre and amazing live. Uhm, CoD, short but good campaign, amazing live and customization. They're both great, just halo offers more. Not to mention the DLC in Halo. I found the 1 map pack CoD has to be quite lame at best, while Halo's ones are greatOh yeah, custom games are also great. Forge, custom games and theatre make Halo limitless.

Never played COD4. Should be getting Bioshock 2moz and i hav halo which i do enjoy playing. Occasionally it does get a little boring but i tend to play a mixture of custom and matchmade games. Campaign was pretty poor tbh and is slightly less lame on co-op.

Well, it's more along the line of who you want whacked more: a druggie or a crooked cop. I killed Francis, and got nothing major...I don't know if you get some special reward if you rub out Derrick.Francis or Derrick(warning:spoiler)
It doesn't make any major difference to the story. And you don't have any contact with the one you don't kill afterwards anyway.
I think if you kill Francis, it makes the next mission a bit easier because you don't have to drive as far...that's all I'll say without spoiling it!

Yeah, but look at PSN compared to XBL.XBL (at least in my opinion) is unmatched when it comes to matchmaking (no pun intended). You can join a friend's game right from your dashboard. You can send messages, play music, and all that just by pressing the guide button.So I think the money they charge is justified. :D

The thing is, when we all get those surveys in our email we always think its a great value for the service. The head of the XBL department also says the same thing, price drop in consideation good feedback when it comes to live being a good value, no price drop.

I obviously don't know if Alone in the Dark is good or not, but Dark Sector was very fun.For me DS was the perfect rent: fun gameplay, about 8 hour campaign, great to have for few days.
i would say alone in the dark, i played dark sector and i found my self more pissed off about the feel of the game then having fun, but im worried about the replay value for Alone in the Dark......but i say it would be better anyway =]

Alone in the dark looks like a really good game, but i also think Dark Sector was very under-rated, my friend let me have a go on it and i thought it was really good.
my friend just got the game and im watching him play it on webcam...he says that it got good physics and has some cool moments but its got terrible controls and is buggy and broken at times...it looks cool but im not sure the 'coolness' will last long...

Eh, it depends on if they fix the problems alot of people are having with the host having an advantage. I never noticed it but alot of people got heated about it. I also think they would have to offer something other than just modes (like COD's or RSV's) to make it worth repeated play. It'll be up there for a while, but I think the darkhorse to catch up to it is Brothers in Arms Hells Highway, game looks sick

Depending on how good the game is, is the factor in how long it shall last. I hope you will be able to customize characters and the online is a little more player friendly. The multiplayer needed to be revamped from the first. It felt rather empty and linear, but it's got the idea.

The newer game is usually always at the top. As long as its as good as Gears 1, and I'm pretty sure it will be even better.
I cant wait for COD world at war, and Brothers in arms Hells Highway to come out!!! i loved the WWII games! though COD4 has made a big hit... the single player was kinda lame, i still play COD2 and 3 on x360 if i want to play single player... as for the feautres on COD4 multiplayer... its a sick game.. im sure that the next one will be just as good, which includes COOP online, Vehicles online.... as well as the perks and upgrades into single and multiplayer and hopefully for achievements this time!as for Gears of War, its definetly Unique... thats the best i can give it... i was not a fan of it, especially when i played Multiplayer online... it was, just horrible... playing it online with friends doing coop was pretty cool, but then you can only have up to 2 people doing that.. i found that kinda sucked... the gore and all was kinda cool, but the movement was realy bothering and distracting. the leaning against walls and sprinting had gotten very innoying...I think that COD4 will still stand over GOW2 in online multiplayer, a for World at War... i know that is what ill be playing online more from now on.. but COD 4 will still be there for me if i ever want to go Modern .
Theres a good chance it will pull 1st place for the first few weeks. After that it will die down to third staying infront of GTA4.
of course it will, you can't play the same game over and over without getting somewhat bored. by then lots of people will want something fresh and GOW2 is offering just that.

I played COD4 and then switched to BF:BC without any frustration. I thought the gameplay was very fun. Guess i just see things differently from you.

The awkward controls are part of the steep learning curve. After putting many hours into the demo i have them mastered and am usually in the top 3 at the end of every round.
I'll say this.. they are both great multiplayer games. My advice is to download the Bad Company demo if you can, and try it out. But don't give up on it right away, at first I didn't like it but it's grown on me a lot.

I had the beta and disliked it cause I died a lot and couldn't get a feel for the gameplay and controls, with the demo I caught on more and it is now one of my favorite multiplayer games. This was the same with CoD4 (as I had the beta aswell)

I want to buy a game this month.

Does anybody have any recommendations on what to buy? Preferably a Q1 or Q2 release from this year. I like FPS games with addictive game play and Rpg's. I have already got COD:4, Gears, GTA4, Oblivion, Bored of halo 3. Any1 have any suggestions?I want to buy a game this month.

Crap, you got all of my suggestions already. Well, lets see. Assassin's Creed, Rock Band, Bioshock, F.E.A.R., and thats pretty much all i can think of off the top of my head. But check around the selection at stores, Almost always i find a game i want when im just browsing at Wal-Mart.
Yeah i got the demo its sweet, but the online play is too laggy when a bunch of things are happening in an area. which is usually quite often. Does any1 know if the actual game will fix that? I've beaten assasin's creed. And Rock Band I play when my friend comes over. I heard Bioshock and FEAR are sweet but i sort of want a newer game from this year Q1 or Q2.Thanks for the suggestions tho.

Ya i thought Lynch reminded me of someone when i saw the trailers. Not going to play the game since I tend to agree with Jeff Gerstman's reviews, not because of the whole debacle that went down here. But ya, the designers must have taken most of their ideas for Lynch from Heat and Waingro.

for some reason ninja gaiden 2 is getting bad press... but when you read the reviews, everything they hold against 2 was something that was in black, but no one seemed to mind. i think the camera is a little better, but 2 is just a lot faster and you fight more enemies at once, so things get pretty hectic, and a lot of attacks will end up coming from off screen. i put about 200 hours combined on ninja gaiden and on black... and in my opninion, they took everything i loved about those, and just turned it up a notch. more intense fighting, faster, bloodier, tougher... ninja gaiden 2 is what every sequel should be. not some radical departure and tons of new ideas that ruin the original formula, just more of what everyone who loved the original wants to see. this is a sequel that is truely made for the fans.

If you liked the first one, then you've already seen the flaws of NG2. The camera, which in my opinion is jsut fine, but people want auto camera this and that. But in reality, its no worse than the original game. I'm glad i bought this game, as its every bit as fun as the first one was. I never played black, jsut the original, so i dont know if black is easier than the orginal or not (sinc ehtey added the save and HEAL option to black that was not in the original...).Long story short, I would suggest you buy it if you liked the first one.

The first two were sooo good, it's really nice to play a FPS that keeps your brain on its toes once in a while, the fast decision making that these games require is pretty rad. The graphics and story look incredible in this one, my only gripe is the cover system a la Vegas, I think something closer to Killzone 2 where you can take cover but the camera stays in first person would have been a lot better.

At least the graphics that made up the characters, their bodies, and movments. Actually looked like the original COD in quality. But then, maybe it's just me.

GTA IV...Liberty City A Little Too Big??

Okay, we all love sandbox, here's a pistol now raise hell in a city full of innocent pedestrian games right? But liberty city, in my opinion was a little too big for such a small storyline. Also, I'm a casual gamer in the sense that I work a full time job, I'm in college and I have a girlfriend. I dont have time to memorize a big city like that in the 4 hours i'd play in a week. Now I've had it for like 2 months now going on, and I still have to use the damn map...I'm not an idiot and yet I still have no idea where anything is unless I stick with the map and thats just a pain in the rear dont you think? Now a 13 year old who begged his parents for the game who goes to school for 6 hours a day has all the time in the world to play it, I know I did when GTA 3 came out, I was 14 I had no problems memorizing; 3, vice city, and san andreas. But I just think that for a 20 hour game, Islands with nothing at all to do in them and mindless streets and highways is a bit overkill. Realisic, YES but for a game? IDK you guys discuss what you think about that. Oh, and the airport...everyone loves the airport, then the FIB comes after you when enter the property? Why do you need to memorize the city? You have a taxi cab that will take you to any marked location. You've got Brucie (assuming you've gotten that far) to fly you to other places of interest. You've got a GPS in every vehicle that guides you to anywhere you mark on the map. I think you are missing something if you are getting lost. GTA IV...Liberty City A Little Too Big??

I think his point is that he cant play fluidly and be guided by his instincts, he doesnt like that he is in middle of an activity and he has to press star look were to go and then activate the gps
the city is not big at all lmao....but i have to agree with you...i have no idea but i can't memorize the map like the past games...and those maps are twice as big as thing one.i guess since its all city based its more hard to memorize
i don't think the city is too big i think its too boring. there is nothing there, nothing to do, not worth driving around. even the story is boring i am finding alot of my friend have stop playing it because its the same thing over and over again and once you have do the story what else is there to do NOTHING. must be alot worse for ps3 tho because at-least we have achievements so it worth doing the police side missons ect.. but its not fun like it use to be i think they have tryed to hard and it did not work out for them.

Nobody NEEDS to memorise a city, i myself like the map being bigger than GTA 3 or GTA: LCS, it gives you more freedom and more places to find and explore, especially on Free Mode on multiplayer with a bunch of friends. it's not that it's big, it just that there are soooooo many streets in the city. driving around is a pain cuz you CONSTANTLY have to stop and turn(unlike others gta's where you can just turn)

Best Buy's PRP for X360?

OK i have a Product Replacement Plan(PRP) with Best Buy. Pretty much if you have ANY problems with your 360 or anything that comes in the package you have you can bring it back and it will be replaced with a brand new 360 package right off the shelves. I have the premium package, and the PRP is a 2 year warranty. Now i've used the warranty since my 360 has gotten RROD, i used the warranty twice and am on my 3rd 360.Now the disc drive is messing up and leaving big scratches on my games, so i'm thinking of taking this 360 in for a replacement brand new one off the shelf.My question is does anyone know if this will be a problem to do? It will be the 4th console i've gotten from them within 2 years. It is a 2 year warranty but i have heard you get unlimited replacements in the 1st year and the 2nd year they send it out or something. The other thing i've heard is you get like 3 replacements and they send it out. I don't know if any of that is true and that's not what i paid for they told me 2 years PRP so anytime within that 2 years if anything goes wrong and it continues over on any new console i get. So does anyone know if this will be no problem or what?Best Buy's PRP for X360?
Nobody knows? i've also heard you can turn it in if its broke for $400 store credit, so i would like to do that and keep the extra 50.

Well i played 1 but it was kinda out when i was young.I played half life 2 on the orginal xbox, But i never got through ravenholdt so i didnt bother continueing.Untill i got The Orange box: Wow. i got it a whille ago ive sold it now but ive been wanting to express my love for this game for a whille but sadly, not alot of people have played it. Well not my mates anyway.I played through half life 2 on the orange box (still cant believe the crammed all that in one damn disc) i loved every minute of it although yes it does get a bit '' ehhh im a little board'' but then something in the story happens or a big damn antlion thing pops out of nowhere and your fighting it. then the little ones come out. anyway before i ramble on.Id have to say that its probably the most Bad-ass series on a console or Pc. Great story and great gameplay, Its amazing how a game with a twist of science actually made it onto shelves.If anyones hasnt played it play it now!. P.S does anyone have info on episode 3Half life Series

Though its a great game, the gameplay isnt that good, you get bored of shooting weapons after Ravenholm, at least there's the gravity gun.
