Achievements? (question)

I do not have a 360 but I am considering getting one eventually. I was just wondering, is it possible to turn off the achievement alerts? Those would get kinda annoying if I had to see that pop uo every five minutes. That would really take me out of the game. And what can you do with the points that you get from achievements? I am very curious about this. Achievements? (question)
Yes, you can turn off alerts through your Guide menu, but Achievement points are just there to show how much you play games, you can't do anything with them.Achievements? (question)
Games don't have enoug hachievements to make them pop up every fivem inutes and their typically to hard to get to make them show up that often. BEsides, the logo that shows up isn't big.Anyway, yes, im pretty sure theres a way to make them not show up.Achievement points are just there for bragging rights.
and btw you wont get achivements every 5 min...most of them you have to do something special to earn them....
It's really not annoying at all, just a small icon that comes up in the corner of your screen telling you what the achievment is.But yeah... there's no real point to them, unless you're one of those people that think having a high gamerscore means your life is more complete and full than someone else's.
there is no point in getting achivments. yes u can turn it off and not see the alert.
Why the hate on achievements? It gives me a sense of exactly that, achievement. Everytime I hear that little beep and see the icon come up I can't help but smile and know I'm doing something right.
I hate acheivements cause now i cant play anything but an xbox game because i have nothing to show that i ever completed a game on another console.
As everyone else's answer in this forum, you can turn them off. Although it is an exciting feeling when you get one. :D

i like to get achievements but i will never buy a game just for the achievements cuz well thats just sad
